YCSS is a licensed, fee-for-service organisation that supports children, young people, families and carers, who live in Residential Out of Home Care and In Home Support Services, via unique and tailored therapeutic programs.
About the Role:
Based in our Beenleigh Head office, reporting to the Executive Manager the Workplace Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for promoting health and safety to a variety of roles including remote, maintenance, direct line, and administration staff members.
The Workplace Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for supporting team connections and embedding safety frameworks throughout organisational documentation and work practices, that comply with relevant regulations and standards ensuring legislative compliance.
Main Duties:
In this role your main duties will include (but not limited to):
• Working within a multifaceted organisation including office staff, on the ground team members, remote workers attending multiple sites, supporting, training and building connection with individual staff and teams.
• Guiding managers and teams in meeting Health, safety and risk compliance (incident and hazard reporting, investigation of incidents, corrective actions)
• Support staff with pre-existing medical conditions, Injury support, Workcover and Return to work processes
• Monitor and advise on WHS legislation, regulations and codes of practice
• Develop and implement emergency preparedness, risk frameworks, and action plans
Essential Requirements:
• Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
• Sound working knowledge of Queensland Workplace Health and Safety and Injury Management Legislation.
• Experience in reporting, analysis, and feedback processes
• High level of data entry skills and accuracy utilising Microsoft Word and Excel
• Demonstrated experience developing/reviewing policies, procedures, work instructions; undertaking data analysis; formulating system documentation; and developing and monitoring quality action plans.
• Detailed knowledge of Work Health & Safety and Worker's Compensation, Rehabilitation Legislation, regulations, codes, standards, and guidelines
