Position Overview

The successful candidate will play a key role in welding and fabricating a variety of metal components, with a strong emphasis on precision, quality, and craftsmanship. The ideal applicant will have proven experience in stainless steel welding, excellent technical skills, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication tasks using mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium according to project specifications.

• Conduct in-process inspections to ensure accuracy and adherence to quality standards.

• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and plans to determine welding and fabrication requirements.

• Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with dimensional accuracy, quality specifications, and safety standards.

• Set up welding equipment by selecting appropriate electrodes, gas mixtures, and welding wire.

• Adhere strictly to workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

• Collaborate effectively with team members, tradespeople, and project managers to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes.

• Ensure all finished products meet the required standards of quality, safety, and presentation.

• Examine welds for bead width, depth of penetration, and overall precision to ensure durability and strength.

Skills & Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, or AQF Certificate IV(equivalent or more).

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in stainless steel welding.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

• High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and safety.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet project deadlines.

• Experience using welding tools, grinders, cutters, and polishing equipment.
