Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Vineyard Worker to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in the cultivation, maintenance and harvesting of grapevines ensuring the highest quality grapes are grown and selected for the wine-making processes. We are looking for someone passionate about the wine industry and eager to contribute to our long-term growth.

Task & responsibilities

Key Role Responsibilities: 

• Cultivating and fertilising soil in the vineyard
• Planting grapevines
• Pruning, training and trellising grapevines
• Canopy management- shoot thinning, leaf plucking, bunch thinning and lateral removal
• Netting vines to protect fruit
• Monitoring and controlling pests and diseases
• Weed control- slashing, mowing, mulching
• Setting up, maintaining and operating irrigation systems
• Harvesting grapes
• Sorting and disposing of fruit not suitable for harvest
• Operating machinery and tools
• Performing general vineyard maintenance tasks

Skills: 

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually
• Strong physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry heavy objects
• Knowledge of vineyard machinery and equipment – beneficial 
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualification & experience

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Relevant AQF Certificate II or III, OR
• at least 1 year of full-time, relevant, work experience to substitute for the formal qualification listed above

Work Experience:

• at least 1 year of full-time work experience
