Truck Driver

We are seeking for a Truck Driver who will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transport of goods using heavy vehicles across regional and interstate routes. The role involves pre-departure inspections, cargo handling, and adherence to all road transport and safety regulations.

Task & responsibilities

• Review consignment paperwork, inspect freight integrity, and obtain delivery confirmations from recipients.
• Deploy lifting equipment such as hydraulic tippers, cranes, or forklifts to efficiently load and unload goods.
• Secure cargo with load restraints, covers, or protective barriers to prevent displacement or transit damage.
• Evaluate axle load distribution and estimate freight weight to comply with legal transport thresholds.
• Align and position heavy vehicles precisely at docks or bays for streamlined cargo handling.
• Carry out routine safety checks on key vehicle systems to confirm operational fitness before and after journeys.
• Follow strict workplace safety standards while managing goods during loading and unloading procedures.

Qualification & experience

• Relevant qualification and a minimum of 1 year of Proven experience in Truck driving
• Valid Australian Heavy Rigid (HR) or Multi-Combination (MC) driver’s license
• Sound understanding of road transport regulations and Chain of Responsibility 
• Strong time management and effective route planning abilities
• Physically fit and able to perform manual loading and unloading tasks
• High awareness of safety protocols and proactive risk management
