About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional, and reliable individual to join our team in our Richlands transport yard and support our Operations Manager in the smooth running of our operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and thrive in a collaborative, supportive work environment. Key Responsibilities

Fleet Maintenance:

  • Oversee and manage the fleet servicing schedule, ensuring timely and efficient service bookings.
  • Monitor vehicle faults, coordinate repairs, and ensure all vehicles are kept in optimal working condition.
  • Perform basic mechanical repairs and tyre changes, when required.
  • Source and purchase heavy vehicle components and parts, as required.

Transport Yard Management:

  • Monitor the yard’s operations, including overseeing the movement of all incoming and outgoing vehicles.
  • Manage key inventory, ensuring security and accurate tracking.
  • Perform vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle preservation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date transport yard registers.

Operational Assistance:

  • Assist with loading and unloading heavy vehicles and vehicle components when necessary.
  • Support local vehicle deliveries as required.
  • Act as the after-hours contact for breakdowns on a rotating weekend basis.
  • Provide relief for the Operations Manager during leave periods.

Daily Administration:

  • Utilize Microsoft Office for daily administrative tasks.
  • Learn and become proficient in industry-related apps and platforms to support operations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A current HR Driver’s Licence is required (HC Licence preferred but can be obtained on the job).
  • Previous experience in fleet management and/or vehicle maintenance is preferred.
  • Basic heavy vehicle mechanical knowledge is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
  • A commitment to safety and maintaining high operational standards.
