Tradesperson (Fitter)
Salary from: Stream C – C10 $78k to C7 $84k + superannuation

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent full time Tradesperson Fitter to join the Water Service Delivery Branch within the Council.

This position is a key technical role, required to perform mechanical and restricted electrical maintenance activities on water and wastewater infrastructure. You will be working as part of a team ensuring all required works are effectively and efficiently carried out.
Position responsibilities include:
- Perform mechanical maintenance activities on water and wastewater infrastructure
- Undertake electrical maintenance works as permitted by restricted electrical work licence
- Enter wells in pumping stations to maintain or repair equipment, pumps and motors
- Contribute to co-ordinating work carried out by outside contractors and suppliers of goods and services.
- Maintain close liaison with the logistics, stores and administration services
- Provide supervision and training for apprentices as required
- Lead by example in following safe work practices, instructions, and rules to prevent accidents to self and others
Key indicators for success:
- Trade Qualification as a Mechanical Fitter is required
- Experience in a water and sewerage maintenance environment is an advantage
- Demonstrated ability in the effective installation, repair and maintenance and monitoring of large water and sewer services
- Knowledge of and ability to co-ordinate planned maintenance programs
- Experience working in confined spaces
- Sound computer and mobile device literacy

- Level C10 starts at $78,189 + superannuation.
- Level C7 starts at $84,579 + superannuation.
- The salaries listed above are inclusive of allowances which are subject to change annually.
