Are you passionate about supporting young adults with disabilities as they transition from school to employment? Do you want to make a real difference by helping to build their independence, confidence, and workplace skills? If so, we want to hear from you!
We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Support Workers to join our SLES (School Leaver Employment Supports) team at together2. In this role, you will play a key part in empowering young adults to reach their goals and successfully navigate the transition from school to employment.


About the Role:
As a SLES Support Worker, you will empower young adults with disabilities to achieve their employment and life goals. 

You will:

  • Provide individualised support focused on employment preparation, including goal setting, skill development, and community-based activities.

  • Assist with daily activities such as workshops, work experience, community access, and building skills in areas like money handling, road safety, and interpersonal communication.

  • Work collaboratively with participants to create a supportive environment that fosters independence and self-confidence, while helping to practise essential workplace and daily living skills.

  • Support participants in transitioning from school to work, ensuring active engagement in achieving their goals.

  • Provide mentorship to participants, fostering their personal growth, resilience, and self-confidence as they navigate new experiences and work towards their employment goals.

  • Be part of a dynamic team that values creativity and initiative in supporting each participant’s unique journey.

What We Offer:

  • Flexibility: School Leavers Employment Support currently runs on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9.30am to 3.30pm, expanding in the near future to include Mondays and Thursdays.

Requirements:

  • A passion for empowering young adults and helping them achieve their employment and independence goals.

  • Flexibility to work daytime hours, primarily on Tuesdays and/or Fridays.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to motivate and guide young adults.

  • NDIS Worker Check, Police Check, Working with Children Check (WWCC), and COVID-19 vaccination required.

  • Experience in disability support or employment services is desirable, but not essential. We encourage all candidates passionate about making a difference to apply!
