About the Role
Are you highly organised, solutions-focused, and passionate about supporting students to thrive in real-world learning environments? Join us as the Student Placements Officer in the Department of Health, Science and Community, where your work will play a key role in shaping the next generation of health and community service professionals.

In this pivotal role, you’ll take the lead in coordinating and managing all aspects of placement administration across our vocational education (VE) programs that include accredited placements. You’ll be the go-to person for ensuring placements are set up smoothly and in line with compliance and funding requirements. From handling student agreements to navigating the policies and processes of universities and regulatory bodies, your attention to detail and drive for efficiency will help streamline the placement experience for everyone involved.

Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you’ll bring strong communication and relationship-building skills to the table. You’ll provide trusted advice and operational support around current legislative requirements, ensuring all placements align with guidelines set by the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, the Department of Health and Human Services Victoria, and the Australian Community Workers Association.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in high-level administration within a client-focused environment. You’ll bring a flexible, proactive mindset, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to juggle competing priorities with confidence and calm. Your strong written and verbal communication skills will ensure you can engage effectively with staff, students and stakeholders alike, while your proficiency in Microsoft Office tools will support your day-to-day work.

Reporting to the Director of Health, Science and Community, you’ll be joining a dedicated, supportive team where your contribution is truly valued. If you're looking to bring your organisational talent to a role that directly supports student success and community impact, we’d love to hear from you.

  • You’re a clear communicator who’s comfortable talking with all kinds of people, whether it’s over email, phone or face-to-face.
  • You work well in a team, but you’re also confident managing things on your own.
  • You’re approachable, supportive, and know how to keep things professional and confidential when needed.
