SQL Database Developer - Contract

Our client is seeking a skilled SQL Database Developer to join their team and support the development, and optimization of applications. You will have a strong background in SQL database development, performance tuning, and data security, along with proficiency in .NET technologies. You will be working on a hybrid basis for a leading provider of cloud-based solutions for government services. Their platform is designed to streamline and enhance public sector workflows, providing efficient and effective service delivery. Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain SQL databases for the application.Optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing.Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.Collaborate with software developers to integrate database solutions with application features.Develop and maintain database documentation, including schemas, procedures, and data dictionaries.Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.Implement backup and recovery plans to safeguard data.Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on database-related aspects.Stay updated with the latest database technologies and best practices Qualifications:Experience as a SQL Database Developer working on large complex enterprise systems.Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).Strong understanding of database design, indexing, and normalization.Experience with performance tuning and query optimization.Knowledge of data security best practices and compliance requirements.Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions is a plus.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Proficiency in .NET technologies. Preferred Skills:Experience with public service platforms.Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.Experience with database migration and version control tools.Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
