About the Role:

As a Sommelier at The Cut Bar & Grill, you will work alongside a talented team of wine professionals to provide exceptional beverage service, enhancing the overall dining experience for our guests. You’ll engage with guests, offer expert recommendations, and share your passion for wine while curating a memorable dining experience.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a sommelier in fine dining or a hatted restaurant environment is highly preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must, with the ability to engage and educate guests on wine and food pairings. You should have an eye for detail and solid inventory management skills.
  • Knowledge: A deep understanding of international wines, spirits, and beers, and the ability to speak knowledgeably to guests about them.
  • Certification: A Sommelier certification (CMS, WSET Level 3, or equivalent) is required.
  • Passion: A genuine passion for food, wine, and service with a commitment to elevating the guest experience.
  • Dedication: A drive for continuous personal and professional growth in wine expertise and service standards.
  • Team Player: Collaborative and supportive of your colleagues, contributing to a high-functioning, team-oriented environment to ensure seamless service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Curate and help manage a remarkable wine list that complements the menu, and continuously contribute to expanding it.
  • Offer personalized, expert wine recommendations to guests, enhancing their dining experience.
  • Lead and conduct staff training to ensure the team is knowledgeable about our wine offerings, pairings, and service techniques.
  • Stay informed about the latest global wine trends, regions, and vintages to keep our wine program current and cutting-edge.
  • Deliver impeccable wine service, adhering to the restaurant’s high standards and expectations.
