Cowra Meat Processors Pty Ltd is seeking a team of skilled meat workers (Slaughterers, Meat Boners and Slicers) to join our team in Cowra, NSW. This is an exciting opportunity for skilled and experienced meat workers looking for full time and permanent positions and looking to call Cowra home.

As a skilled meat worker, you will be responsible for delivering consistently high quality products and ensuring customer satisfaction on every occasion. Your day-to-day tasks and duties include: 

  • stuns and kills livestock; 
  • severs s jugular veins of stunned animals to drain blood and facilitate dressing; 
  • slits open, eviscerates and trims animal carcasses; 
  • removes internal organs and hides and prepares carcasses for further processing;  
  • move carcasses from supply rails to boning tables; 
  • cuts meat to separate meat, fat and tissue from around bones; 
  • washes, scrapes and trims blood and other foreign substance from meat; 
  • cuts meats into standard meat cuts, such as rumps, flanks and shoulders, and removes internal fat, blood clots, bruises and other matter;
  • Prepare meat for packing and marketing; 
  • slaughter livestock according to procedures required by religious customs. 

Skills and Experience: 

  • A minimum of 2 + years of experience within the meat industry;
  • Relevant Certificate III in meat processing or equivalent;
  • Physically fit; 
  • Safety conscious; 
  • Demonstrated ability to work without supervision; 
  • Ability to work as a part of a team;
  • Strong verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to handle conflict and dispute resolution.
