Is seeking skilled and qualified Chef (specialised in Indian Cuisine) with a passion for fine cuisine to join our team at our restaurant named Saffron Indian Cuisine in Geelong, Victoria 3220. The role involves creating an authentic Indian dining experience, managing kitchen operations, and maintaining exceptional food quality.

Salary: $78,000 - $80,000 per annum plus Superannuation
Hours: 38 hours per week

Key duties and responsibilities but not limited to :
- Plan and update menus featuring traditional Indian flavors, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian curries, and desserts.
- Innovate menu options to cater to diverse dietary preferences.
- Ensure the use of high-quality, fresh ingredients to deliver excellent taste and presentation.
- Supervise food preparation to maintain consistent quality and standards.
- Manage stock and inventory, ensuring key ingredients like spices, meats, grains, and vegetables are readily available.
- Lead and mentor kitchen staff, focusing on food safety, hygiene, and efficient kitchen operations.
- Provide training on Indian culinary techniques and kitchen processes.
- Monitor portion control, kitchen costs, and reduce food waste.
- Respond to customer feedback to enhance the dining experience.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery.
- Have no less than 1 year of experience in the relevant industry.
- Ability to produce high-quality dishes under pressure and in fast-paced environments
- Proficiency in Indian cooking techniques and a deep understanding of spices and flavors.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage kitchen staff and maintain consistent food quality.
