The role:
Our Asset Management team is recognised as a leader in delivering top-tier management to a national retail landlord with centres across Australia. Due to a recent promotion We are seeking a Shopping Centre Portfolio Manager to join our South team, based in Melbourne.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing assigned properties, delivering end-to-end property management services, and ensuring the protection and enhancement of client assets. You will also operate within budget limits, authorities, and procedures set by both Knight Frank and the client, contributing to the success of our national team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end property management services, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and operational performance.
  • Actively support team to develop and maintain strong relationships with retailers
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and operational requirements across the portfolio, addressing non-conformances promptly.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure centres are well-maintained, clean, and compliant.
  • Manage tenant relationships, address escalated issues, and approve payment plans or lease adjustments.
  • Oversee development, divestment, and acquisition transitions, ensuring seamless integration into the operating portfolio.
  • Maintain risk management and compliance standards, ensuring all safety and legal requirements are met.
  • Monitor financial performance, approve expenditures, and manage budgets to meet financial KPIs.
  • Lead and support the team, providing mentoring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, tenants, and key stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic asset management advice to maximise property value and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all reporting and documentation are completed accurately and on time.

  • Tertiary qualifications in property, engineering, project management, or equivalent experience (7+ years).
  • Strong experience in portfolio management, financial oversight, and client reporting.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of team development and performance management.
  • Advanced analytical skills to assess property market trends, financial impacts, and risk management.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with solid report-writing and business case development skills.
  • Knowledge of WHS, sustainability, NABERS, and building services.
