We are seeking a Server Engineer to join our IT Operations team and support the design, deployment, and maintenance of our server infrastructure. Working closely with the Senior Server Engineer, you’ll ensure our on-premises and cloud-based environments are secure, reliable, and scalable to meet evolving business needs. 

You’ll play a key role in supporting both internal systems and client-facing services, contributing to business continuity and operational excellence. This role may require occasional after-hours work to manage upgrades, patches, or respond to urgent server issues, particularly during critical events.

About the Role 

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust server infrastructure, including physical and virtual environments, ensuring scalability, security, and optimal performance.

  • Deploy and manage cloud-based and on-premises servers, utilizing platforms such as Windows Server, Linux, VMware, and Hyper-V.

  • Monitor and manage server performance, availability, and capacity planning.

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues affecting business operations

  • Install, configure, and manage Windows and Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance.

  • Deploy and manage virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or Citrix Hypervisor.

  • Configure and manage enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS) and ensure data integrity and availability.

  • Implement and maintain server security policies, including access controls, patch management, and threat detection measures.

  • Maintain detailed records of server configurations, incident resolution procedures, and best practices.

  • Provide regular reports on server performance, security incidents, and system health to senior IT staff and stakeholders.

About you 

  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Nutanix Certified Associate (NCA)

  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server and Linux-based operating systems.

  • Strong knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.

  • Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and IIS.

  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).

  • Experience implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions.

  • Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform).

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.

  • Experience with storage solutions (SAN, NAS, iSCSI).

  • Understanding of ITIL best practices and service management frameworks.

  • Experience with server monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.
