The role will be involved in (but not limited to) the following:
- Assist in raising livestock and help in monitoring and maintaining the health and condition of livestock
- Moving livestock to optimise feeding opportunities
- Assist in organising and conducting farming operations such as catching, sterilising machines, and collecting, grading and packaging produce
- Perform general farming activities such as maintaining sheds as instructed by the Farm Manager or Assistant Farm Manager
- Help in maintaining fences, equipment and water supply systems
- Assist the Farm Manager or Assistant Farm Manager in maintaining records of farming activities and planning production accordingly
- Support the Farm Manager or Assistant Farm Manager in its role of managing the day-to-day operation of the farm that is aimed at delivering optimum performance of the flock
- Implement animal health and welfare programs
- Regularly monitor feed management and bird collection
- Daily shed servicing or cleaning and grounds maintenance
- Accurate weighing of birds on a weekly basis
- Ensure accurate record keeping to be submitted to the Farm Manager or Assistant Farm Manager
- Monitor animal welfare and production quality and report the findings to the Farm Manager or Assistant Farm Manager
- Respond to alarms on site at any time of the day or night and report the findings to the Farm Manager or Assistant Farm Manager
- Follow company policies on animal welfare, environmental standards, and biosecurity
The right candidate will have the following qualifications/experience
ESSENTIAL - AQF Cert III with two years of OJT, or AQF Cert IV
In the absence of qualification, 2 years full time relevant work experience is required.
DESIRABLE - Two years of full time relevant work experienc
