Senior Manager, Performance Modelling, Portfolio Performance, Mortgages Line of Business
How will I help?
The Mortgages team provides a comprehensive lending experience to millions of Australian home loan customers, including employees through Employee & Family Banking Home Loan offers. Collaborating with first and third-party lenders, the team supports a wide range of customers, including home buyers, investors, upgraders, and downsizers, across five brands: Westpac, St.George, BankSA, Bank of Melbourne, and RAMS. The Mortgages Line of Business (LOB) aims to create seamless, digital home loan experiences while growing sustainably, contributing significantly to Westpac Group’s success by representing over half of its total cash earnings.
This role focuses on providing actionable insights to mortgage Line of Business (LOB) leaders, helping them make informed decisions to acquire, retain, and grow priority segments and channels. As a subject matter expert, the individual will oversee balance sheet momentum, benchmarking performance, and developing forecasting tools to track mortgage growth. They will also work to consolidate LOB activities, identify opportunities to enhance portfolio growth, and collaborate with Group data partners to build effective reporting capabilities. Additionally, the role involves addressing inquiries from senior leaders, regulators, and industry participants about the mortgage portfolio.
Collaboration is key, as the position requires working closely with various stakeholder groups, such as Customer Engagement, Broker, Finance, and Strategy & Development, to achieve mortgage balance sheet targets and improve portfolio performance management. Strong analytical and financial modelling skills are essential for breaking down complex problems and uncovering opportunities that deliver organizational value. The role also demands excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, alongside adaptive influencing and relationship-building skills to work effectively with leaders and peers across the organization.
