Job Description

We have a strong pipeline of projects in the design, development and construction of mineral processing and materials handling projects in Australia and overseas.

We are currently recruiting a Senior / Lead Electrical Engineer to play a pivotal role in our dynamic Brisbane Engineering team. As a key contributor, you will play a crucial role in project development, ensuring high-quality designs and compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Electrical Team Lead - Mining & Minerals, this position will involve but not be limited to the following duties:

• Project and design management for small projects including coordination with clients, managing project team and tracking of schedule and delivery,

• Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and specifications

• Coordinate with other engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery of projects.

• Conduct site visits, inspections, and investigations.

• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers.

• Efficiently assist in allocating engineering design and drafting resources to meet deliverable dates and man-hour budgets for timely deliverables ensuring project schedules are met for areas of assigned work.

• Assist in preparing accurate man-hour budgets and design schedules for studies and detailed engineering projects.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following experience and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)

• Minimum of 7+ years of post-graduate experience in a relevant role

•  CPEng and RPEQ or actively working towards

• Mandatory experience in Low Voltage (LV) Electrical Design, with High Voltage (HV) Electrical Design and Hazardous Area design being highly desirable.

• Experience in Control and Instrumentation (C&I) design will be an advantage.

• Experience in mining, minerals processing, or related industries, with a strong preference for those with experience in EPCM environments.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to supervise and guide other engineers as needed.
