The Role
We have an opportunity for a Senior Lawyer to join a growing national insurance company that has an incorporated legal practice. The successful candidate will enjoy working alongside a large team of talented lawyers nationally, many ex-top tier and enjoy working in a supportive and flexible environment.
This role will suit an insurance, litigation/dispute resolution lawyer who has experience in professional indemnity and public liability. Perhaps you are seeking a position with a more down-to-earth, 'in-house' feel with no billable hours or BD.
The role reports directly to the Legal Director and will be advising on a mix of professional indemnity, public liability, claims and policy advisory work.
Core Responsibilities
Provide legal advice to a wide range of industries, including but not limited to, the infrastructure, construction, real estate and property sector through to IT professionals, architects and professional servicesBe responsible for and have carriage of your own files, with support and appropriate supervision from the national team and DirectorsUndertake a mix of public liability claims work and policy advisory with a strong focus on professional indemnity
The Successful Candidate
Values-led legal legal professional with a minimum of 4 years post qualification experienceBackground in defendant insurance litigation, with professional indemnity experienceCommercial approach and ability to work relatively autonomously and run your matters (with support where needed).Strong client relationship skills and understands the importance of providing technically excellent adviceSelf motivated and talented lawyer who enjoys working on matters from end to endTeam player who appreciates the importance of collegiality and mentoring of more junior lawyers
