Senior DBA (SQL Server / Azure) - 8 Months+ Contract - Perth CBD

We are a leading Perth based IT Consultancy who work with large clients across multiple industries. 

We are currently looking for an experienced or Senior DBA with extensive previous experience of both SQL Server and ideally some Azure SQL skills to join us on an initial 8-month contract, with likely further 6-month extension 

Key skills and requirements:

• Min 6+ years' experience as a SQL Server DBA

• Min 1+ years' experience with Azure SQL

• All the usual DBA tasks and responsibilities

• Previous Cloud migration project experience highly desirable but not essential

• Experienced in managing and administering SQL Server databases installed on virtual machines as well as on Azure SQL or SQL Managed Instance in Azure.

• Experienced in installing and setting up SQL Server databases through scripts on Azure VM, Azure SQL or SQL Managed Instance.

• Implemented security and auditing for Azure SQL and SQL Managed Instance in Azure

• Experienced in writing scripts for automating DBA tasks, including migration.

• Experienced in enterprise database backup software/tools.

• Any exposure or knowledge of Azure SQL or Azure Cosmos DB highly desirable but not essential

• Experience supporting/administrating MS SQL Server databases from version 2000 up to 2015 ideal.

• Experience with Azure Migration and SQL Clusters desirable

• Advanced communication skills

Desirable experience:

• Any previous government industry experience desirable

• Any experience performing migration of SQL Server databases (versions 2008 R2 to 2019) to Azure SQL and Azure Managed Instance.

• Any experience performing migration of SQL Server Analysis Services and SQL Server Integration Services packages as well as migrating SQL Server Reporting Services reports.

In return we offer:

• A good hourly rate between $95 to $115 per hour (inclusive if super) depending on experience level

• A flexible 37.5 hour week and friendly working environment. 

• Perth CBD site-based role with WFH options 2 days per week.
