T he Role This is very much a business & strategy focussed role through the use of AI, engineering, analytics and i nsights. As Senior Data Solutions Engineer, you’ll form part of the Transparency group and be instrumental in ensuring real-time visibility of cashback tracking and attribution for millions of transactions. A high impact role that will directly impact Rakuten Rewards members' experience by making sure they receive their rewards seamlessly and trans parently. You’ll build real-time models that process disparate events throughout the customer journey to deliver instant cashback to consumers, and work on cutting-edge challenges in fraud technology, payment analytics, operational analytics, and performance opt imisation. As part of this you will analyse large-scale transaction data to identify tracking gaps, design experiments to test hypotheses, and develop strategies to enhance real-time tracking capabilities. Your insights will drive improvements in Rakuten Rewards’ attribution models and optimise the overall member experience. What you Bring to the Role We're looking for someone with a blend of technical expertise and business acumen that can bridge the gap between complex AI solutions and real-world business impact. And you’ll have a track record of building and deploying AI/ML solutions that deliver ta ngible value. Some of the things we ar e looking for: Exceptional and eloquent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences, including C-level executives.Hands-on experience with ML and AI implementation – building, integrating, and deploying solutions that provide tangible business value.Experience applying AI solutions to business problems, including recent exposure to LLMs and generative AI.A track record of successfully deploying low-latency inference pipelines in production environments.Strong foundation in SQL, Python, and machine learning techniques and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn.Familiarity with broader MLOps/DevOps practices for continuous model updates and sys tem monitoring.
