The Role
This is a pivotal role focused on managing a ledger of customers to ensure timely follow-up on past due accounts. This diverse position involves negotiating payment arrangements, maintaining accurate records, and enhancing processes to achieve exceptional customer outcomes and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Engaging customers through phone, email, and written correspondence to manage overdue accounts in line with repayment terms
  • Conducting challenging yet empathetic conversations to resolve payment issues professionally
  • Negotiating payment arrangements to recover outstanding amounts effectively
  • Maintaining and updating accurate customer records in the collections management system
  • Consistently meeting and exceeding KPIs related to collections targets and customer satisfaction
  • Taking end-to-end ownership of an assigned ledger, including initiating legal proceedings when necessary and continuously improving processes
  • Building strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in collections or customer-facing roles, ideally within financial services(although not essential), coupled with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. You will excel in managing sensitive interactions with confidence and tact, thriving in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Essential skills and qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a Credit/Collections Officer or in a comparable role
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a proven ability to build rapport and maintain professionalism under pressure
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills for articulating policies and negotiating payment arrangements
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated expertise in handling complex customer interactions with empathy and professionalism
