We’re looking for a Senior Account Manager to lead a portfolio of high-profile financial clients and contribute to the continued growth of our agency. This role suits a confident communicator with deep experience in financial services, particularly in funds management, banking or fintech and a track record of delivering results through media relations, strategic counsel and team leadership.

You’ll act as a senior client advisor, drive strategy and execution, and play a key role in shaping both client and internal outcomes. You'll also mentor junior staff, contribute to business development and help manage agency priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of accounts across financial services
  • Provide senior counsel to clients on both strategic and tactical communications issues
  • Build strong relationships with financial journalists and key media stakeholders
  • Draft, review and edit high-quality media materials including media releases, Q&As, speeches and thought leadership
  • Develop and oversee the execution of media strategies and complex communications plans
  • Contribute to agency business strategy, growth and resourcing decisions
  • Evaluate communications outputs at an advanced level and guide improvements
  • Mentor and support the development of junior team members
  • Navigate client and internal stakeholder dynamics with confidence and professionalism
  • Take ownership of account planning, reporting and budget oversight

About You

You're a confident operator with a deep understanding of the financial services sector and a passion for delivering sharp, effective communications. You know how to hold the room, earn a client’s trust and guide a team to success.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • 4-7+ years of PR or corporate communications experience, with at least 3 years in financial services (agency experience is preferred)
  • Expertise in funds management, wealth, fintech or related financial sectors
  • Strong understanding of Australia’s economic, political and media landscape
  • Demonstrated ability to lead accounts and manage high-level stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent writing and editing skills across a range of media formats
  • Advanced technical skill in media relations, campaign planning and content strategy
  • Confidence managing team capacity, delegating effectively and mentoring others
  • Strategic thinking, creativity and commercial awareness
  • Relevant academic qualifications that demonstrate your grasp of Communications
