SCADA Commissioning Engineer - Daily Rates Contract (Perth, WA)

📍 Location: Perth CBD (with regular travel across WA)
📅 Contract: 12 Months (Potential for Extension)
💰 Rate: $1000 - $1200 per day (inclusive of super)

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced SCADA Commissioning Engineer to support a major infrastructure program within Western Australia. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the delivery, testing, and commissioning of SCADA systems supporting gas pipeline and distribution networks.

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-reliability control systems, and contribute from design through to final commissioning, including site deployments and FAT.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning, design, and implementation of SCADA systems

• Oversee installation, configuration, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)

• Perform comprehensive system commissioning and end-to-end testing

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and communication issues

• Travel to field sites across WA for system deployment and commissioning

• Maintain clear and detailed technical documentation

• Train operational teams and technicians in SCADA system usage

• Support integration of Cisco networking equipment within SCADA environments

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in SCADA system commissioning, ideally in the gas or utilities sector

• Strong understanding of SCADA architecture, PLCs, HMIs, and control logic

• Programming experience in ladder logic, Python, or C++

• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL databases is an advantage

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals; Cisco experience or CCNA-level knowledge desirable

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Willingness to travel to remote WA sites as required
