Statewide - SA Pathology
About the role
SA Pathology is seeking a hands-on and motivated Calibration Engineering Technician or Calibration Engineer to join our small, multi-discipline team. In this vital role, you'll be responsible for providing professional and timely technology support through the calibration, planned and remedial maintenance of biomedical and other specialised equipment, devices, and instrumentation. Your work will ensure these critical systems meet required standards, with accurate documentation and compliance at the forefront.
Whether you bring a technical background or an engineering qualification, your classification (TGO2 or PO1) will reflect your skills and experience. You'll apply your judgement and expertise to contribute to best-practice calibration services and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role also involves regular collaboration with laboratory staff, external agencies and contractors, making it a rewarding opportunity to work in a supportive and solutions-focused environment that underpins essential healthcare services.
About You
You're a self-motivated and detail-focused professional who thrives in a technical environment. Whether you're an experienced technician or a qualified engineer, your classification will reflect your skills and qualifications. To succeed in this role, you will have:
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information both verbally and in writing, including the preparation of technical reports and documentation
A disciplined and organised approach to work, with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a self-managed team
Proven technical skills in calibration, maintenance, and repair of electronic and electromechanical devices, with sound knowledge of engineering standards, quality assurance, and IT systems
A commitment to continuous learning and improvement, with the ability to solve problems logically, adapt to changing technologies, and contribute positively to team outcomes
