The Position:

We are seeking experienced and passionate Automotive Mechanic who is ready to take the next step in their career. Join our dynamic team as a Roadside Patrol Mechanic and help us deliver exceptional assistance to our members when they need it most.

About the Role:

Working on a flexible rotating roster between 6:00am and 11:30pm, Monday to Sunday, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to roadside assistance callouts, providing prompt and effective mechanical support to RAC members.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting a wide range of vehicle breakdowns with efficiency and precision.
  • Performing minor mechanical repairs, adjustments, and services including battery replacements, tyre changes, and jump-starts.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service, ensuring member safety and satisfaction during challenging situations.
  • Coordinating with towing services or other specialist support where necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed service records in line with RAC's policies and procedures.
  • Start your day from a designated RAC location.

What We're Looking For:

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic with strong diagnostic and repair capabilities across various makes and models.
  • Relevant trade qualifications in Automotive Mechanics or a related field.
  • A Motor Vehicle Repairer's Licence (light vehicle repairs mandatory).
  • A current and valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for helping others.
  • A customer-first mindset, with the ability to provide calm and supportive assistance under pressure.
