About the role


The St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) Inc (Vinnies) is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Shop Manager to join our Norwood team. If you're passionate about retail, have a heart for service, and enjoy making a positive impact, this is the role for you!

In this role, you’ll help alleviate poverty and hardship across South Australia by ensuring the smooth operation of our store, delivering exceptional customer service, and creating a welcoming environment for all. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your retail skills while giving back to your community.

As the Retail Shop Manager, you will lead a team of staff and volunteers to achieve sales objectives and foster a positive customer experience.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee all aspects of store operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and customer service

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of volunteers and staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences

  • Implement effective strategies to drive sales, profitability and operational efficiency

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and legal requirements

  • Foster a positive, supportive and inclusive work environment

What we're looking for

  • Proven track record in retail store management, preferably within the not-for-profit or charity sector

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team

  • Excellent customer service orientation and the ability to deliver a consistently high level of service

  • Keen commercial acumen and the ability to drive sales and profitability

  • Retail fashion experience and an eye for styling and merchandising

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment

  • Alignment with the mission and values of the St Vincent de Paul Society

Special Conditions

  • Employment is contingent upon satisfactory National Police Checks and pre-employment health checks.

  • Weekend work will be required.
