Why Your Role Matters:

In the School of Science at UNSW Canberra, your role as a Research Assistant is pivotal in shaping the future of human factors research. As an institution renowned for its thoughtful, practical, and purposeful approach, we are dedicated to fostering an environment where innovative teaching and research can flourish.

Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to designing and conducting research experiments, writing weekly reports, attending meetings with the research team to report project progress.

Who You Are (skills and experience):

• Bachelor (Honours) or Masters in Science, Human Factors, Engineering or related disciplines and/or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience, and/or relevant work experience.
• Prior experience supporting a research project.
• Demonstrated computing skills including word processing (MS word), spreadsheets (MS Excel), and statistical analysis packages
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, industry partners, colleagues and students
• Proven ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads, deal with multiple tasks and projects, establish priorities and meet competing deadlines;
• An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
• Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

Eligibility:

The successful candidate will be required to undertake pre-employment checks prior to commencement in this role. The checks that will be undertaken are listed in the Position Description. You will not be required to provide any further documentation or information regarding the checks until directly requested by UNSW.

The successful candidate will be required to work from the UNSW Canberra campus. To be successful you will hold Australian Working Rights or Australian Citizenship. UNSW is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
