Position Summary
This full-time permanent role will be responsible for preparing, applying, and finishing paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes on interior and exterior surfaces. This role requires high attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work safely in commercial and industrial environments. Offering a annual salary of $76600 per annum plus superannuation.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling holes and cracks, and removing old paint or wallpaper.
Applying undercoats, sealers, primers, and finishing coats using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
Mixing and matching paints to achieve required colours and finishes.
Applying decorative and protective finishes such as stains, varnishes, and specialised coatings.
Using and maintaining spray guns, rollers, and brushes in accordance with manufacturer and project requirements.
Erecting and working safely from scaffolding, ladders, and elevated work platforms (EWP).
Reading and interpreting work specifications, drawings, and safety instructions.
Applying epoxy floor coatings and other industrial/commercial finishes.
Ensuring compliance with company safety policies, environmental standards, and site requirements.
Working effectively as part of a team to deliver projects on time and to the highest standard.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required
Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (or equivalent overseas qualification).
Minimum of 2 years full-time work experience as a professional painter and decorator.
Proven experience in commercial or industrial painting projects (epoxy floors, spray finishes, protective coatings desirable).
Ability to work at heights and operate scissor lifts/EWP safely (training provided if required).
Strong knowledge of surface preparation, coating systems, and painting tools/equipment.
Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
English language skills sufficient for workplace communication and compliance with visa requirements.
