Who will you be working with? This position reports to the Global Operations Director. The primary purpose of the role is to be the safety and quality assurance lead for Wabtec Digital Mine Operations, driving compliance to quality systems, continual improvements and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, contractual, legislative, regulatory and incident response readiness requirements. This role will also manage Quality Assurance teams undertaking daily inspections of the activities to ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and meets all relevant safety and quality standards throughout operations

Where is the position located? This is Permanent full-time position at Fountaindale, New South Wales

What will your typical day look like?

• Overseeing and managing all aspects of quality assurance and quality control within an organization.

• Provides direct mentorship to production personnel to continuously improve the overall Quality culture and implement best practice management systems in the workplace.

• Ensure that standards are met throughout all processes of the company, from supplier relations, to manufacturing processes.

• Enhance internal and external processes, practices, and products to ensure consumers receive the best value possible.

• Define quality root causes for non-conformances and develop and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

• Lead product introduction and improvement projects.

• Measure and report quality and related KPIs.

• Liaise and represent the company on all OHSE matters with clients, government agencies and the community in general.

• Provide OHSE training and advice to managers and staff on industry’s best practice.

• Lead accident/incident investigations and prevention initiatives.

• Travel (20% – 25%) to other Digital Mining sites to aid in the collaborative alignment between the Operation and Service Businesses.

What do we want to know about you?

• Bachelors/Master’s degree in mechanical/production/electrical engineering

• 10+ years of quality systems & service quality assurance experience in the Mining/Manufacturing or related industry.

• Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams.

• ISO45001 Certification/Lead Auditor Accreditation desirable.

• Relevant experience in Project Management.

• Knowledge of lean and continuous improvement concepts and tools.

• Track record of building relationships, influencing and communicating with a broad range of stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.

• Demonstrated ability to identify problems, analyse data, generate opinions and implement innovative solutions to complex problems.
