Service Stream’s Utilities division are currently seeking a Project Controller to join our growing company. The Project Controller plays a critical role in ensuring the operational and financial success of works and services performed by supporting the Operational and Commercial teams. This role is responsible for the comprehensive management and administration of contract costs, contract processes and encompasses a wide range of financial activities
Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

Reporting Line: Commercial Manager - UU MECS
Key Responsibilities
This role is seen as a central cog in the MECS contract team. It will work with stakeholders to achieve cost improvements while always maintaining high reliability, compliance, and operational efficiency standards. The role will also involve working closely with the operations team to ensure operational excellence for the associated maintenance contract
Support TCOM teams in aligning asset management strategies with annual goals
Assist in developing project plans detailing timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
Coordinate and monitor maintenance schedules, preventive programs, and project progress to ensure scope, time, and cost adherence
Liaise with Inventory Controller and Warehouse stakeholders to ensure maintained levels of equipment inventories, oversee procurement, and manage vendor contracts
Act as a key contact for contracts and facilitate stakeholder communication
Forecast costs, establish and monitor budgets, and ensure regular cost reporting
Assist with track actual costs vs. budget, metrics, and maintain risk registers
Collaborate with finance teams on client claims, purchase orders, and WBS code management
Assist with month-end processes, payroll, onboarding, and site cost reviews
About You
Preferable: Tertiary qualifications in Business Commercial, Finance, Project Management, Engineering or similar.
Advantageous: Leadership development training and further studies in TAFE or university relevant to the role
Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial/operationally focused roles within construction/infrastructure or resource sectors
Experience with JobPac preferable
Delivery of construction or maintenance programs in infrastructure sector advantageous (both water and wastewater treatment and networks assets preferable)
Strong communication skills (oral & written)
Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
