About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Process Engineering Lead will work at our Titanium Dioxide Finishing Plant in Australind WA. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and overseeing engineering tasks and team activities, while supporting day-to-day operations to achieve production targets. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective process engineering services.

Our Australind Finishing Plant is located on the scenic Old Coast Road in Australind WA 6232. This is a full-time site-based role, and successful candidates will need to reside in the Southwest region of Western Australia. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide visible leadership to plant operations in the fields of process and occupational safety.

  • Plan, coordinate and monitor the activities of an Operations team to ensure production targets and quality specifications are met safely and efficiently in accordance with Company policies, procedures and work instructions.  

  • Recommend operating targets to achieve production and quality goals in liaison with the Operations Manager.

  • Prioritise work activities for the Process Improvement group to meet the needs of Operations, Capital Projects, and Strategic Business Improvement teams.

  • Contribute to the development of the Technology Strategy and associated roadmaps for finished products.

  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional team collaboration.

  • Develop tools to ensure accurate, timely production and operations information is provided to the operations teams.

  • Coordinate Research and Technology (R&T) activities, including the use of external technology vendors for R&T trials and internal laboratory/test facilities.

  • Monitor all systems to ensure continuous variability reduction and efficiency improvement daily.

  • Contribute to and initiate capital projects that add value to the business, including justification, option studies, Management of Change, and Commissioning.

  • Manage all continuous improvement activities and processes, ensuring they are budgeted.

  • Manage and coordinate process investigations and associated small capital projects.

  • Manage all SOPs, including updates and changes, in concert with the training department.

  • Coach and develop team members.

About you:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or another relevant discipline.

  • Significant post-graduate experience in process engineering, ideally gained within a similarly complex fixed plant environment.

  • Previous experience in leading process engineering and continuous improvement projects.

  • Previous experience utilising Root Cause Analysis methodologies.

  • Knowledge of engineering processes, management of change and related legislation / standards.

  • Previous experience in leading teams and influencing around Continuous Improvement would be advantageous.
