Task & responsibilities
- Interpret manufacturers’ manuals to understand mechanical system specifications and operational requirements.
- Develop and follow assembly procedures for metal fabrication and assembly.
- Assemble metal parts and subassemblies accurately to meet design specifications.
- Check fit and alignment of assembled parts to ensure proper assembly of machines and equipment.
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify accuracy, clearance, and fit during assembly.
- Configure and calibrate machining tools, guides, stops, and controls to ensure precise cutting and shaping of materials.
- Develop, implement, and adhere to scheduled maintenance programs for plant machinery and equipment.
- Conduct diagnostic testing on machinery to identify root causes of malfunctions or failures.
- Replace, repair, or service damaged or faulty components to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipes to appropriate sizes and angles for hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Install and secure hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines, ensuring proper fitting and sealing.
- Connect pipe lines to machinery and equipment, verifying proper operation and safety.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on fluid power lines to prevent leaks and ensure system efficiency.
- Manage procurement, storage, and inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Qualification & experience
- Valid state certification or equivalent, with relevant experience.
- Proven experience operating and maintaining plant machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical manuals and technical documents.
- Forklift, boom, or scissor lift tickets are a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to focus for extended periods.
- Knowledge of local suppliers for replacement parts is advantageous.
- Experience or knowledge of electrical components interfacing is preferred
