Role Overview:

The People and Culture Advisor/Generalist at Stanley College plays a key role in fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. You will provide expert support and guidance across the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to professional development and employee relations.

Your focus will be on promoting our organisational values, ensuring that all staff feel supported, engaged, and recognised. This role is integral in driving projects & initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction and contribute to the overall success of Stanley College, and handle sensitive employee relations and investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and timely advice to employees and supervisors/managers on all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
  • Promote Stanley College’s values of Care, Innovation, Excellence, Inclusion, Accountability and Sustainability.
  • Ensure a positive onboarding experience for new team members, setting them up for success.
  • Manage day-to-day absences, report on trends, and identify opportunities to reduce absenteeism.
  • Handle sensitive employee investigations and grievances, including disciplinary outcomes.
  • Manage employee termination and offboarding processes, including exit interviews and data analysis to understand turnover reasons and develop retention strategies.
  • Support operational leaders with development and accountability, aiding in difficult conversations.
  • Assist the P&C Manager in delivering workforce planning Initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and data, and improve People systems and processes continuously.
  • Collaborate with managers to understand training and development needs, creating individual development plans.
  • Play a key role in P&C projects across the site and broader business, ensuring effective communication and management of change.
  • Engage with stakeholders across various locations and organisational levels, providing proactive and solutions-oriented support.
  • Draft, review, and update policies to align with legal requirements and organisational goals.
  • Provide consistent guidance to employees and managers to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Organise staff engagement activities that enhance team cohesion, morale, and performance, aligning with company values and goals.
  • Manage and document performance, conduct, and grievance matter in compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Manage organisational change to ensure business changes are well planned and effectively implemented.
  • Lead and manage process improvement projects across diverse business areas.

About You:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a generalist role as a Business Partner, People and Culture Advisor, or Senior People and Culture Coordinator, ideally within the finance or professional services sector. Proven employee relations experience including investigations.
  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Business (Human Resources), Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and Risk Management principles.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Attributes: Highly organised, proactive, self - driven, solutions-oriented, and thrives in fast-paced environments. Adaptable and agile with a passion for continuous improvement. You are a critical thinker with a strong understanding of contemporary People and Culture practices, a trusted, effective and collaborative team member with excellent relationship management skills to manage both internal and external contacts.
