DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: We are looking for an enthusiastic pastrycook with the right skill set and experience to join our team.
- Prepares wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies and tarts by following traditional and modern recipes.
- Decorates pastries with different icings and toppings, using spatulas, scrapers and piping bags.
- Demonstrates attention to detail in crafting intricate pastry designs, resulting in excellent presentation and visual appeal for customers.
- Balances multiple tasks simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines during high volume periods.
- Manages inventory levels and assisted pastry chef in placing orders for ingredients, maintaining sufficient stock levels while minimizing waste.
- Scales out and mixed ingredients according to recipes and procedures.
- Maintains cleanliness and proper food safety standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff members.

LOCATION:The position is based at West Footscray, VIC 3012. However, there will be occasions where work is required to be carried out at different locations. This is a full-time position with minimum 38 hours a week. Flexibility is required for site work, overtime, shift work (weekends) and during peak periods.
REPORTING TO:The position reports to the Director/s and the Pastry Chef.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:May hold Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Certificate III including at least two (2) years of on-the-job training,OR AQF Certificate IV with at least one (1) year of relevant full-time or equivalent work experienceOR at least three (3) years of relevant experience.
SKILLS:
- Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and provide information to other staff, management, and owners.
- Ability to work and manage a team, also to work independently.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment.
SALARY:A$72,000 – A$80,000 annual base pay + superannuation.
