About the Role

Join our team as an Occupational Therapist, Grade 2 on a part time (.8 FTE), ongoing basis. This role will be based between the Kingston centre in Cheltenham and Monash Medical Centre in Clayton as well as some travel between sites.

You will work with patients and clients every day to enable them to improve their participation in occupations by assessing the home environment and their occupational performance in their home. This includes completing occupational assessments in patients home, recommending and setting ongoing setting goals with your clients and the multidisciplinary team and completing occupational based interventions including equipment prescription that make a different to patient's everyday lives.

You will work collaboratively day to day with a multi-disciplinary team of allied health, nursing and medical staff. You can share ideas and support joint treatment with a fantastic group of people who are inclusive, passionate and share a vision to provide excellent, evidence-based care for patients and their families.

Working across other departmental areas or streams and between Monash Health Sites also form part of this role which means you can build skills in:

About Us

The Occupational Therapy department at Monash Health are an integral part of the wider Allied Health and ward multidisciplinary team. This positon will also provide key leadership to the Occupational Therapy team in upskilling our staff in the area of home environment assessments

What you need

  • Experience in providing a clinical service to patients in an inpatient setting, including home assessment practice and environmental modifications
  • Demonstrated skill in teaching, supervision and promoting the growth and development of staff
  • Ability to work autonomously across streams within the scope of the role
