D MOTORSPORTS PTY LTD automobile service and repair services focus on prestige and racing cars and we are seeking a qualified and experienced motor mechanic in this sector.

Role:

Maintenance, testing and repairing motor vehicle engines and the mechanical parts of lightweight motor vehicles such as transmission, suspension, steering and brakes.

Suitable candidate is expected to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts
  • Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
  • Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed
  • Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
  • Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired
  • Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
  • Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers
  • Quality control
  • Attend car shows and events

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Qualification of CIV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis or equivalent. Additional higher relevant trade qualifications will be a plus
  • Minimum 3 years of skilled work experience. Experience in prestige and racing cars will be a plus
  • Fluent English and strong communication skills with staff and clients
  • Strong attention and an eye for detail
  • Acute diagnosis and accurate repair skills
  • Locating, selecting and ordering high quality parts
  • Be able to work unsupervised with a keen eye to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Strong ability to lead and direct other tradespersons 
  • Strong communications skills, work well in a team environment & thrive under pressure
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to multitask 
  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver timely and quality results
  • Ability to work autonomously on a variety of tasks, effectively managing competing timelines whilst staying flexible enough to deal with urgent situations as required
  • Flexible work hours essential
