About the Role:
Villaron Group is seeking a skilled Metal Machinist to join our team in our Perth, Western Australia office. This is a full-time role where you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various metalworking machinery to produce high-quality parts and components. As a key member of our Trades and Services team, you will play a vital role in supporting our manufacturing operations.
What You'll be Doing
Operate a range of metalworking equipment to manufacture parts to precise specifications and quality standards
Utilize tools such as torque wrenches, dial indicators and measuring instruments to calibrate and align machinery where required
Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work orders to determine the appropriate machining processes and techniques. Incorporate design changes.
Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Diagnose mechanical faults, dismantle machinery and replace or repair defective parts as required.
Monitor and ensure the quality of machined parts, making adjustments as needed
Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines and production targets
Maintain detailed records of work completed and parts produced
Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies, regulation and procedure
Communicate with clients and fabricators on project requirements.
Inspect finished products for quality and compliance.
What We're Looking For
Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience as a Metal Machinist
Strong working knowledge of metalworking machinery and machining processes
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work orders
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Having a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of steel types, properties, connection details and fabrications processes to inform the machining procedures
