About the Role:

Villaron Group is seeking a skilled Metal Machinist to join our team in our Perth, Western Australia office. This is a full-time role where you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various metalworking machinery to produce high-quality parts and components. As a key member of our Trades and Services team, you will play a vital role in supporting our manufacturing operations.

What You'll be Doing

  • Operate a range of metalworking equipment to manufacture parts to precise specifications and quality standards

  • Utilize tools such as torque wrenches, dial indicators and measuring instruments to calibrate and align machinery where required

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work orders to determine the appropriate machining processes and techniques. Incorporate design changes.

  • Perform routine maintenance and adjustments on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety. Diagnose mechanical faults, dismantle machinery and replace or repair defective parts as required.

  • Monitor and ensure the quality of machined parts, making adjustments as needed

  • Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines and production targets

  • Maintain detailed records of work completed and parts produced

  • Adhere to all health, safety and environmental policies, regulation and procedure

  • Communicate with clients and fabricators on project requirements.

  • Inspect finished products for quality and compliance.

What We're Looking For

  • Relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience as a Metal Machinist

  • Strong working knowledge of metalworking machinery and machining processes

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work orders

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

  • Having a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of steel types, properties, connection details and fabrications processes to inform the machining procedures

  • Commitment to workplace health and safety
