Job Description The Manager Code Compliance leads a team to support the work of two independent Committees, the Banking Code Compliance Committee (BCCC) and the Customer Owned Banking Code Compliance Committee (COBCCC). This leadership position, with the guidance of the Senior Manager, Code Compliance, plays an important role in delivering on each of the Committee’s purpose to monitor compliance with the respective industry Codes (the Banking Code of Practice and the Customer Owned Banking Code of Practice) to improve industry practice and delivering better outcomes for consumers. The Manager Code Compliance leads and manages portfolios under the respective Committees’ workplans to ensure the team delivers on these areas. Key Accountabilities Include: Lead, manage and report on specific areas of work/portfolios under the workplan.Supports the development and implementation of the Committees’ compliance strategy to address non-compliance, uplift industry standards and protect the interests of consumers.Effective development and ongoing management of internal and external stakeholder relationships, influencing positive outcomes through those relationships.Progress opportunities for business improvement and change management activities.Contribute to an environment for innovation and continuous improvement, driving collaboration across the broader Code Group.Managing a team through effective people leadership, actively coaching for high performance.Perform other duties or functions that could reasonably be expected of this role. Additional Information The BCCC is the independent body that monitors compliance with the Banking Code of Practice and the COBCCC is the independent body that monitors compliance with the Customer Owned Banking Code of Practice. By monitoring compliance with the Code, the Committees hold industry accountable to its promises, encourage best practice and improve customer outcomes. While the work of the Committees is industry funded, they operate independently of the industry. The Committees operations are carried out by an independent secretariat service, provided by the Code Group, that sits within the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA). Qualifications Experience leading in risk-based investigations, compliance, or regulatory roles.A proven track record of identifying and implementing business change to deliver efficient operational outcomes, and foster a high-performance culture.Sound experience in communicating with influence, negotiating strategic outcomes, and managing stakeholder relationships effectively.The ability to deliver on a portfolio of work in accordance with the budget.Experience in leading high-performing teams in a complex and demanding environment, including fostering an inclusive workplace.Coaching and mentoring to facilitate staff development and team performance.Highly developed written and oral communication skills, presenting complex information clearly and concisely for diverse audiences.Proficiency in analysing large data sets to identify trends, potential risks, and present findings and insights through clear and concise reports.An understanding of the financial services sector more broadly is desirable.The ability to travel interstate when required and work from the office two days per week.
