About The Role:
We’re on the lookout for a qualified and practical Technician to support and maintain our packaging lines at our manufacturing site. You'll work with PLC-controlled machines featuring pneumatic and electrical systems, playing a key role in keeping our production operations efficient and running smoothly.
This is a hands-on, site-based role reporting to the Head of IT & Automation. While the position is mainly on day shift, flexibility to work afternoon shift and occasional weekends is required depending on business needs.
Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to maximise uptime
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently
Read and apply technical/mechanical drawings in line with Australian standards
Install and modify plant equipment to meet safety and quality requirements
Conduct root cause analysis and suggest continuous improvement solutions
Maintain accurate service and repair logs within our maintenance system
Support equipment upgrades and new machinery installations
Provide training and support to production staff in equipment operation
Follow and enforce all OH&S policies to ensure a safe work environment
Requirements:
A relevant trade qualification (Electrical with mechanical skills preferred)
At least 5 years of experience in a similar manufacturing or packaging role
Strong experience with packaging machinery, robotics, pneumatics, and fluid dynamics
Experience with PLC systems and electronic maintenance (PICs)
Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and fabricate to spec
Disconnect/Reconnect licence (highly regarded)
Forklift and EWP ticket (advantageous but not essential)
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
Physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting
