About The Role:

We’re on the lookout for a qualified and practical Technician to support and maintain our packaging lines at our manufacturing site. You'll work with PLC-controlled machines featuring pneumatic and electrical systems, playing a key role in keeping our production operations efficient and running smoothly.

This is a hands-on, site-based role reporting to the Head of IT & Automation. While the position is mainly on day shift, flexibility to work afternoon shift and occasional weekends is required depending on business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to maximise uptime

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently

  • Read and apply technical/mechanical drawings in line with Australian standards

  • Install and modify plant equipment to meet safety and quality requirements

  • Conduct root cause analysis and suggest continuous improvement solutions

  • Maintain accurate service and repair logs within our maintenance system

  • Support equipment upgrades and new machinery installations

  • Provide training and support to production staff in equipment operation

  • Follow and enforce all OH&S policies to ensure a safe work environment

Requirements:

  • A relevant trade qualification (Electrical with mechanical skills preferred)

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar manufacturing or packaging role

  • Strong experience with packaging machinery, robotics, pneumatics, and fluid dynamics

  • Experience with PLC systems and electronic maintenance (PICs)

  • Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and fabricate to spec

  • Disconnect/Reconnect licence (highly regarded)

  • Forklift and EWP ticket (advantageous but not essential)

  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English

  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting
