The United Evangelistic Council Inc. (UEC) is an evangelical not for profit organisation that exists to encourage and sponsor the promotion of the Christian gospel in Australia. Role Overview:

As Leader for Evangelistic Events, your role will be to plan, coordinate, and execute evangelistic events that are evangelical in conviction, evangelistic in focus, and cross-denominational under the direction of the Council. Your responsibilities will include working through local leaders to manage all aspects of event planning, from concept development to post-event evaluation, ensuring that each event is contextually appropriate and aligns with UEC’s mission and goals.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about larger scale evangelism and has gifts in rallying leaders to organise effective evangelistic events to see people come to faith in Jesus.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan events. Work through leaders across different churches and organisations to:

  • Develop and implement events effective in reaching a particular target people group.
  • Plan and manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual equipment, and transportation.
  • Coordinate with speakers, performers, and volunteers to ensure their availability and participation.
  • Oversee the creation of event materials such as invitations, programs, and promotional content.
  • Oversee churches in preparation for the event and follow-up of respondents post event

2. Manage a budget. Work through leaders across different churches and organisations to:

  • Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints.
  • Secure and manage sponsorships and donations to support event funding.

3. Promote the event. Work through leaders across different churches and organisations to:

  • Develop and execute marketing and promotional strategies to increase event attendance and engagement.
  • Utilise social media, email campaigns, and other channels to reach and engage the target audience.
  • Build and maintain relationships with churches to promote the events.

4. Manage the event. Work through leaders across different churches and organisations to:

  • Oversee event setup, including staging, decorations, and technical requirements.
  • Manage on-site operations during the event, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Coordinate with volunteers and staff to ensure effective execution of roles and responsibilities.

5. Evaluate Post-Event. Work through leaders across different churches and organisations to:

  • Collect and analyse feedback from participants, volunteers, and stakeholders to assess the success of the event.
  • Prepare and present post-event reports, including recommendations for future improvements.

6. Lead a team to collaborate. Work through leaders across different churches and organisations to:

  • Lead and motivate teams of volunteers providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with volunteer teams to ensure alignment with event goals

7. Ensure compliance and safety. Work through leaders across different churches and organisations to:

  • Ensure that all events comply with relevant regulations and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to address potential issues.

Desired Outcomes

  • The Gospel proclaimed in culturally appropriate and engaging events. and people becoming christian.
  • 4-6 events taking place per year depending on scale and complexity
  • Participating churches and organisations stirred to continue to join together in evangelistic efforts after UEC’s initiatives.

Time

  • Half to one day a week or as negotiated to execute an agreed number of events annually.
  • UEC prefers to second you from your current employer or remunerate you as self-employed.
  • Volunteers would be reimbursed for all reasonable expenses

Key Qualities

  • Passionate about seeing the lost saved
  • Willingness to sign the UEC Doctrinal Statement
  • competent in bringing leaders from different churches or organisations together for a common vision
  • Able to lead leaders through effective delegation for desired outcomes
  • Run effective meetings towards desired outcomes
  • Experience with organising evangelistic events
  • Have time to give to the role on a weekly basis

Qualifications:

  • Education: Qualifications in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Theology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred but not essential.
  • Experience: Proven experience in leading leaders, evangelistic event planning and coordination.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, organisational and multitasking abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in running effective events through others.
  • Attributes: Passion for working with people, commitment to evangelistic outreach, and ability to inspire and engage leaders in evangelism.

Additional Requirements:

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to travel for events, if required.
