A position has come up for an admitted junior lawyer at our firm.

Position Overview:
We are looking for a junior lawyer to join the team and under supervision work across a broad range of work, however, focusing on family law. There will be components of criminal law and litigation.
Our firm undertakes work across the Coast, including Victoria, NSW and Queensland. Therefore, the experience for the takin will be unparalleled. There will also be the opportunity to travel interstate for work and court appearances.
About you:
We are looking for passionate, strong and astute individuals. You need to be able to work as part of a team, however, also individually. Let us be clear, we do not require a high distinction average from university and academia is not an indication to us of your potential as a solicitor.
We require a skill set that goes much beyond the academic only. The best lawyers are practical, they know how to pick up the pieces and can work under pressure. A lawyer’s job is dynamic, it is not merely about writing advice, going to court, or even just counselling.
A lawyer in the modern age takes on many responsibilities and obligations, one only needs to look to the solicitors rules. However, this same person can make a difference and in the right atmosphere will do so.
To succeed in this role you will:
have a current practising certificate, or the ability to obtain the certificate upon starting this role
have experience with drafting family law court documents
an ability to advocate, orally and in written form
be eager to develop your own skillset across a broad range of matters
be willing to be proactive, ask questions and curious
be reliable and trustworthy in relation to conducting work independently
be able to work both independently and as part of a team
have an attention to detail
have excellent communication skills and the ability to deal sensitively and confidentially with client
have a professional manner
familiar with technology in particular MS Office suite of tools
demonstrate values such as creativity, curiosity, and a willingness to challenge conventional practices, while also recognizing the importance of hard work and dedication
be open to working on matters across different jurisdictions and open to travel
