CARERS NSW LIMITED is the peak organisation supporting unpaid carers across New South Wales and helps improve the lives of those caring for family and friends with support needs relating to ageing, disability, health and mental illness. We are currently seeking a full-time IT Technical Support Officer (ICT Support and Test Engineers nec) to join our team, with the role based in North Sydney, NSW. This position is 38 hours per week, and the ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of relevant experience and hold a bachelor’s degree in information technology (network and system computing). A competitive salary of $85,000 to $95,000, plus superannuation, is on offer.

Task & responsibilities

  • Maintain and administer computer networks while handling software, hardware, and configuration issues, and assist with all End User Computing devices, including their configuration, problem diagnosis, maintenance, repair, and replacement.
  • Perform disaster recovery, data backups, and implement security protocols.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot software, hardware, and network problems, and replace faulty components while installing, configuring, and upgrading network systems.
  • Work with different business stakeholder to coordinate system updates, resolve technical issues, document their business needs, and ensure the smooth operations of the system.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest technological advancements, industry trends, and best practices in educational technology to suggest innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify system inefficiencies and recommend better practices and system functions to meet business unit users’ requirements and Carers NSW standards.
  • Use project management skills to plan, resource, and manage IT projects effectively, implementing system solutions that include creating and testing plans to ensure quality and functionality Implement system solutions, including creating and testing plans to ensure quality.
  • Use modelling techniques to create clear system designs.
  • Continually contribute to the repository of quality support documentation and knowledge base.
  • Create user guides and training materials, conduct training sessions, and orient new staff with IT account setups and conduct IT inductions to facilitate effective system use.
  • Perform scheduled out-of-hours maintenance when required.
  • Contribute to Carers NSW databases management.
  • Ensure successful operation of backups and maintain IT asset register.
  • Review systems and procedures regularly for ongoing improvements.
  • Travel across regions to manage technical issues and offer support.
  • Act as a point of contact for technical queries related to DAPS operation.
  • Collaborate with IT Project Manager to support transformation projects.
