This AFR firm has a new opening in its Business Services division. They are specialists in the Accounting, Tax, Corporate Finance and Audit space and has experienced significant growth in the past 12 months.

This firm adopts the ‘resource pooling’ structure, thus, you’ll have the exposure to various Partners and a large variety of work including in both tax compliance and advisory. You’ll be working with SMEs up to $50M turnover across a variety of industries such as construction, manufacturing, medical, media and retail. Characteristics of the role include:

  • Preparation of income tax returns for companies, partnerships, trusts and individuals

  • Preparation of Financial Statements for different entities in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards

  • Calculation of Capital Gains Tax, depreciation of property, plant and equipment and gain or loss on sales of assets

  • Identifying tax issues and determine suitable treatments for areas including FBT, CGT, Div7A

  • Exposure to the management accounting function for clients such as budgeting and forecasting, analysis of income and expenses against budget

  • General statutory compliance for clients; BAS, GST, PAYG Instalment calculations

  • Preparation and lodgement of various ASIC forms and liaising with government bodies, banks and legal institutions on behalf of clients

Seeking candidates with the following:

  • Approximately 2-3 years (or more) experience in an accounting firm

  • CA/CPA studying or qualified

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Possess strong business acumen and ability to problem solve

  • Motivated, eager to learn
