About The Role
The role of the Infringement Operations Officer is to assess the quality and accuracy of evidence recorded on Reports of Non-Compliance and enter reports into the regulatory system. These reports are prepared by Authorised Officers across Victoria’s Public Transport network and submitted to the branch for review and issuance. This position is a function of the branch’s Infringement Administration group and reports to the Team Leader, Infringements Operations. The incumbent is required to work effectively as a member of the TRO branch and engage with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
Effective assessment and entering of incoming notifications of non-compliance originating from TRO areas of responsibility, including Victoria’s Public Transport Network and Clearway environments. Determine the appropriate outcome for notifications through the application of agreed decision[1]making criteria that is consistent with the relevant legislation and government policy. Communicate with authorised officers, public transport and/or towing operators when reports of non-compliance are not completed accurately and/or contain insufficient evidence to determine if an offence has been committed. Undertake a range of administrative support activities and maintain business systems to support the Transport Regulatory Operations branch. Work responsively and collaboratively within the team, across the branch and with other key stakeholders to deliver the branch’s regulatory activities. Strive for regulatory excellence through Page 3 of 5 integrity, empathetic engagement and competence and uphold the VPS Code of Conduct, values and behaviours. Ensure that all records relating to public transport infringements, original contracts, financial records and other documents are securely and accurately maintained and stored to ensure accessibility and the efficient retrieval of relevant information as required, particularly for subsequent internal reviews and prosecutions. Contribute to other branch initiatives, deliverables, projects and tasks as required.
