The Human Resources (HR) team at CDSB enables the department to meet its strategic priorities. We do this by supporting the department to attract, recruit, engage, and develop the workforce it needs now and into the future and by supporting the department to provide a healthy and respectful workplace. The HR team delivers its services through business aligned Business Partner and hrAssist teams, and specialised teams providing Workplace Relations, Safety and Ethical Standards, Executive and Talent, Policy and Programs, Workforce Strategy and Workforce Insights and HR Systems. As the first point of contact for CDSB employees, the hrAssist team handles these critical engagement touchpoints in a responsive and employee-centric way that significantly contributes to enhancing the overall employee experience.
As the Human Resources Support Officer, you will:
Collaborate effectively with others across the HR team to triage queries and to provide timely and accurate responses to HR enquiries received from employees and managers.
Process vacancy management activities including advertising and recruitment requests, issuing expressions of interest and accurately maintaining the vacancy management register.
Co-ordinate the criminal history clearances through external providers and maintain a comprehensive register and adhere to retention and disposal guidelines.
Process establishment management requests through a centralised approach, ensuring consistent practices across the Department.
Follow policies, procedures and work instructions relevant to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality services are maintained.
Support the delivery of HR programs as required.
Perform administrative and business support activities to the broader HR team.
What are we looking for?
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
Clear, concise and respectful communication skills, both written and verbal, including active listening.
Ability to interpret and apply HR related legislative provisions, and to follow instructions and procedures to ensure sound, consistent and quality delivery of services.
Proven capability to utilise the Microsoft Office suite of applications, or the ability to rapidly develop these skills, to maintain registers, produce documents and communicate messages.
Strong attention to detail, time management and organisation skills to produce accurate responses within set deadlines.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in an environment that processes a high volume of requests.
