- Safety Project role - 18 months Fixed Term Contract
- Key position in one of Tip Top’s largest projects!
Based in Canning Vale WA, we are currently seeking a Safety Specialist to engage, oversee and facilitate the consistent delivery of health, safety and environmental (HSE) outcomes for a 18-month construction and capital project.
You will have the ability to influence and drive initiatives through to completion and ensure compliance with legislative requirements and the Health & Safety at Work Act, the Environmental Management Act and Tip Top Bakeries HSE management systems and standards.
Purpose of the role
- Facilitate risk assessment of manufacturing equipment and review contractor risk assessments of construction locations to evaluate safety hazards and review remedial actions and provide feedback to contractor
- Review project safety/environmental incident investigations and associated investigation reports
- Review contractor and project incident data and metrics to identify trends and review corrective action to address these areas
- Conduct safety/environmental training for GWF project team as needed
- Evaluate and assess contractors operational practices/equipment for safety compliance
- Coach project team, contractors and leaders to maintain a safe and healthy work environment that does not tolerate unsafe behaviours
About YouThe ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum Diploma in Health & Safety Qualification
- Min 3-5 years HSE experience with a track record of achieving HSE outcomes in a complex and diverse manufacturing environment
- Influencing skills with a strong track record of building HSE engagement
- Ability to build relationships at all levels across the site, initiating conversations about safety impacts and best practice
- You'll be able to work across the project to imbed consistent standards of performance, to make things happen and have the passion, drive and perseverance to follow through
