About the role

At Silk Hospitality, we are committed to creating a supportive, friendly environment with an enviable work culture. We are currently seeking a dedicated Senior HR Generalist to join our Human Resources Team in our head office on St Georges Terrace, Perth City.
This role is vital in supporting a range of HR functions including employee relations, return to work case management, policy development, training, compliance, and health & safety Your expertise will help us enhance our workplace culture and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Reporting directly to our HR Manager your key responsibilities will be:

  • Support Leaders and employees to improve working relationships, maintain morale, high productivity and strong retention. 
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external enquiries, respond to information requests, and maintain information flows within business areas. 
  • Coordinate and manage Employment Lifecycle processes, documents, and records. 
  • Draft and issue letters - specifically Employment Contracts, Change of Conditions, Higher Duties, Confirmation of Employment and End of Contract letters. 
  • Assist in the development and implementation of best practice policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, the Modern Awards system, National Employment Standards and other related legislation.
  • Be a confidential and discrete professional applying great care to work tasks given the sensitive data processed. Ensure strong governance and compliance with policies, checklists, workflows, procedures and Delegation of Authority.
  • Assist with the resolution of employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and grievances
  • Undertake the role of Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordinator and liaise with injured workers, workers compensation insurers, rehabilitation providers, medical service providers and payroll team.
    Essential:
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Management, Psychology, ideally 5 years post-grad experience.
  • Solid understanding of employment law and relevant legislation to ensure compliance and informed decision-making.
  • Great communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Detail-oriented with effective organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of Work Health & Safety principles, processes, and systems.
