Your Next Role

The Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor plays a vital role in promoting and maintaining high HSE standards across designated client groups. In this role, you will partner closely with leaders and team members to foster a proactive safety culture. You will support the implementation of safety initiatives in alignment with Hyne Group’s strategic goals, ensure continuous improvement of the HSE Management System, maintain legislative compliance, and contribute to the broader business objectives. This role is ideal for someone who is stepping into this position from a Coordinator level, looking to expand their impact and grow within a leading organisation.

  • Engage with leaders and teams to ensure they have the tools and confidence to manage HSE obligations and risks effectively.
  • Support and coach leaders in applying HSE systems, change management, and risk management to ensure compliance and meet business objectives.
  • Facilitate structured risk assessments, controls, and governance to improve HSE performance across operational lifecycles.
  • Oversee HSE event response, reporting, and investigations to drive continuous improvements.
  • Implement and manage HSE training, inductions, and competency verification to strengthen the safety culture.
  • Partner with leaders to enhance communication, consultation, and collaboration on HSE initiatives.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and work with industry peers to drive best practices across sites.
About you
  • Relevant qualifications in WHS/OHS (Diploma or higher), with auditing and training certifications being desirable.
  • Strong understanding of HSE principles, risk management, and industry-specific requirements, particularly within the timber sector.
  • Experience developing and implementing HSE management systems and leading cultural change initiatives.
  • Proficiency in incident investigation methodologies (e.g., ICAM) and driving corrective actions.
  • Ability to analyse HSE data, identify risks, and implement strategic improvements.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, education, and influencing.
  • Understanding of environmental compliance, sustainability, and waste management practices.
  • Current driver’s license.
