About The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Headless API Architect to join our team and help shape the future of digital experience platforms. You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining high-performance, scalable web applications using Next.js, working closely with designers, developers, and content teams to deliver seamless, API-driven digital experiences.
In this hands-on role, you’ll work across the full software development life cycle – from architecture and development through to implementation and continuous improvement. You'll also provide subject matter expertise on best practices in headless architecture, modern JavaScript frameworks, and enterprise CMS integration.
What Part Will You Play?
Designing Headless Architectures: Develop and define the overall architecture for headless platforms, including the separation of the presentation layer from the backend services;Develop and maintain Next.js applications that consume content from headless CMSs;Work with APIs and data sources, including GraphQL and RESTful APIs, to integrate backend services;Participate in client facing meetings, joint venture discussions, vendor partnership teams to determine solution approaches;Implement front-end features with React.js/Next.js , ensuring reusable components and maintainable code;Collaborate with DevOps team and developers to review pull requests, deploy and optimize applications using Azure;Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in headless architecture and provide SME guidance to other software engineers.
What you'll bring
Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, or a related field;5+ years' experience designing and developing enterprise-grade software solutions;Advanced proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and front-end frameworks;Strong experience with Next.js, React, GraphQL, and REST APIs;Solid understanding of headless CMS integrations and modern web architecture;Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and cloud platforms like Azure;Experience with state management tools such as Redux or React Context;Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Bonus Points for
Experience deploying Next.js apps to Azure;Familiarity with Sitecore JSS or other enterprise CMS platforms;Prior experience with IBM Rational tools;Leadership or mentoring experience in development teams.
