Doonside Technology High School is a comprehensive high school with a focus on the use of innovative and cutting edge learning to best engage our students. We have a diverse student population with an enrolment of 707 students in 2025, with 18% Aboriginal students. Our Support Unit caters for the needs of 74 students, including students in Stage 6. We focus on fostering a culture of high expectations and a shared commitment from all members of our school community to wellbeing, engagement, learning and success in and beyond school. We provide quality education that enables our students to develop attributes and skills to achieve their full potential and to succeed in their chosen post–school endeavours. Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Proven capacity to work collaboratively with the executive team to lead, manage and implement whole school initiatives that support the
effective implementation of the school’s School Excellence Plan.
Demonstrated ability to deliver, supervise and support the delivery of vocational education courses and school transition programs.
Outstanding communication skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff and parents/carers.
Demonstrated capacity to lead innovative teaching and learning programs that cater for a diverse student population.
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
